You do not need and should not have IIS installed on the ISA server, unless
it is an SBS server.

Please explain your setup. You said e-mails are not going out. Going out
from where to where, an e-mail client on the LAN to a e-mail server on the
Internet or an e-mail server on the LAN to the Internet?

Have you set up any rules allowing outbound SMTP?

since the mails r not going our, I thought that since mails are not going
out, this might be the problem and installed SMTP service. But still the
mails are not going. I changed the port of IIS to 8081 since 80 and 8080 are
reserved for ISA.

You said the SMTP service is running, meaning you have IIS installed on a
firewall? WHY?

Hi everyone,

I've Installed ISA server and was trying to configure the clients. The web
proxy clients are working fine. I need help in the following areas (reg web
proxy clients):
1. The mails are not going/receiving in the Outlook Express. Is there any
configuration required on the server? SMTP service is running on the ISA
server.
2. Can I purmit users based on the MAC address instead of IP addresses?

Regards
Ram
