I think I know what you mean. I go to the Incoming Web Requests tab and
look at the IP addresses there, right? I have three of them, all
listening on Port 80. Two of them claim to be having problems (as I
mentioned yesterday). The third one doesn't claim to have any problem at
all.

Hi Rob,

Well on the external interface (NIC)
See if you have selected that card(IPADDRESS) under setup and make sure
that the port shows 80

You do this by right clicking on the machine name and then looking at
the properties.
If that is done then you should not have any trouble setting up the
additional rules to work.

Subject: [isalist] Resource Allocation Failure

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hello--

Whenever I restart the Firewall Service, I get an alert that sa1ys I
have
a "Resource allocation failure." When I look in the event viewer, I have
an Event ID 14159, "Web Proxy service failed to listen to [ip address]
port 80. The network interface card might not be functional. The error
code specified in the Data area of the event properties indicates the
cause of the failure. For more information about this event, see ISA
Server Help."

When I look in Help, I see the explanation: "The Web Proxy service is
unable to register itself to listen on the port specified. Some other
application might be using the port." And the User Action tells me to
use netstat -a to check which ports are in use, and then to check
Protocol Definitions for details on each protocol.

I've done both of those things but don't know quite what I should be
looking for. Can anyone help me out? To me it things look pretty normal.
Both of the ip addresses that are giving me this error actually seem to
work--I can get to the websites that are running on them, from outside
(and inside) the network.

Thanks,
Rob
