That was a couple of years ago. I don't know the cost of RainConnect. So
from your comment $5-7k is a reasonable facsimile?

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the tip! I didn't know the Linkproof was so reasonably priced.

Thanks!
Tom

We used a Radware Linkproof. It is a DNS based load balancer. It uses
DNS smoke and mirrors to tell inbound connections which connection to use. I
think they are around $5k. The hardware was awesome, and so was the company to
work with. Our network has grown quite a bit in the last year and so ISA and
the Linkproof are kind of a side note in our network anymore.

So, what do you recommend as a replacement? We have the latest version
installed, but it's only a matter of time before it stops working without new
releases...

While a great product, I believe the downfall was 2 fold:

Pricing: The pricing of the product put it into the enterprise class
but the enterprise class already has tried and trued options that work great.
The product would have been great in the medium size class, but the pricing put
it out of reach.

Design: By design, certain features required particular configurations
and control, but many did not want to give that kind of control to the product.
