No; "dns" is the DNS server service.
You can remove it if you don't operate DNS on the ISA server.
I do run it and so do many others.

Hi,
When I run clrdns, it attempt to stop a "dns service" just called "dns" with
the following command line:
net stop dns
net start dns
So, the batch return the following status:
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net stop w3proxy
The Microsoft Web Proxy service is stopping..
The Microsoft Web Proxy service was stopped successfully.
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net stop fwsrv
The Microsoft Firewall service is stopping.
The Microsoft Firewall service was stopped successfully.
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net stop dnscache
The DNS Client service is stopping.
The DNS Client service was stopped successfully.
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net stop dns
System error 1060 has occurred.
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net start dns
The service name is invalid.

E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net start dnscache
The DNS Client service was started successfully.
E:\SCRIPTS ISA>net start fwsrv
