Perhaps that is a problem with the mac's browser, the thing hasn't been updated
for ages.

Authenticating a Mac client is an issue even if you want to open file shares.
Great for home use that thing, can't go much beyond that =)

Hello Tom,

What about if I make a rule on top with no proxy filter and destination
to sites I am looking for and make another rule below it for other
sites? This should make me separate proxy with none proxy sites. Right?
I appreciate your help and comment

Hi Ara,

But then *all* sites are directly accessed, since the client isn't
configured as a Web proxy client in this scenario. The point of the
Direct Access configuration is to allow you to bypass the Web proxy
client configuration for specific sites, not all sites.

Tom,
Thanks for answer. So this means if only firewall client is installed
and machine is a secure NAT, unbinding the web proxy filter makes it a
direct access.
Don't you think this is easier to do if only fwc is installed and
machine is a snat compared to
http://isaserver.org/pages/search.asp?query=direct+access for web sites
which have problems using proxy?

Hi Ara,

Web proxy clients remote their connections to the Web proxy filter, so
the Web proxy filter doesn't need to be bound to the HTTP protocol for
them. SecureNAT and Firewall clients, however, will not be directed to
the Web proxy component.

Hello everyone

I have been asked this question but I don't know the answer. If you
create an http access rule from inside to external and unbind the web
proxy filter from properties of the rule, does that make the connection
no to go through proxy and become direct access?

Also combine the case having firewall client installed or having browser
pointing to port 8080

Thank you very much
