Hi, Michael.

There is a migration strategy for networks that have grown past the 50 user
capability. You can find the information here:

The reason is because my existing SBS server wont be able to handle many
more users with exchange and ISA running all on the same machine, so
eventually I will have to split up the services and have separate
exchange,
ISA, file servers ect.. Just wondering how I could utilize that
existing
        license.

        Thanks

        Regards,

I don't think so. SBS will expect to be the first controller in a NEW
        domain.

Thinking about it, you'd be wasting a bunch of money if you weren't
using
most of the capabilities of SBS.

        Hi,

Can you use only the 2000 server portion of SBS without the additional
SBS
services and then add that server as a member server to an existing
domain ?

        Thanks

Interesting; I seem to be missing random list postings...

To clarify Tiago's answer to Tom's question:
SBS licensing allows you to install the SBS applications on a single
server
        per license.
This means that all apps included in a single SBS license are to be
        installed on THE SAME SERVER.
You cannot split them across multiple servers.

        Thomas,

Yes, you can have member servers in SBS2K. You can even put services
like
ISA Server, Exchange 2000 on member servers and it's correctly licensed.
But, since SBS2K licenses are per-server, you must have licenses for
this
        additional server.

        Hope this helps!

        Hey guys,

Sorry for the off-topic question, but it does tie into an ISA Server
centric
article I'm putting together. Are you allowed to have member servers in
an
SBS domain? Or does the liscense restrict you to using a single Windows
2000
        Server in the SBS domain?

        Thanks!
