Hi Thomas,

How do you get around the issue of when your external ISA is installed in
standalone firewall mode?
I've noticed that the smtp filtering rules still pass information into the
STMP relay servers.
I've tested this out and blocked all *.hotmail.com and that still gets
through.

I'm running w2k with ISA 2000. I've not yet ran ISA 2004 to see if this is
still
an issue.

What this basically has done is create lots of badmail, dropped mail and
queed mail, since it dosen't see the remote *.domain.com. I guess that is a
good thing but it does take a hit on the STMP virtual server. Then the
systemlog gets filled pretty darn fast. So, I created a special script that
stops, saves, clears and then starts the systemlog backup again on the STMP
relay machine.

Thank you,

Joseph

Hi Ahmed,

Check out the ISA/Exchange Deployment Kit docs and look for references
for "remote domain". That's how you do it. For example, you can install
an incoming SMTP relay on the ISA firewall, and using a single IP
address, publish as many domains as you like. I've set this up in many
places, even when they had many separate and distinct SMTP servers on
the internal networks.

HTH,
Tom

Two choices:
1. get another external IP
2. use an internal SMTP relay that understands how to route on a
per-domain basis.

We are currently hosting two Exchange servers, each is representing
different organization. I published the First Exchange fine and
I can see my e-mails from the internet using VPN client.

The problem is when I try to publish the second interface, it didn't
accept this because I have one external IP. How can I get
around this problem to publish the two Exchanges ?

Thanks and have a nice day,

Ahmed
