HI Marvin, EXT ISA >> DMZ (SMTP RELAY) >> INT ISA >> INTERNAL EXCHANGE. ENIC = External Nic card INIC = Internal Nic card ENIC(ISA)INIC >> DMZ >> ENIC(ISA)INIC >> INTERNAL EXCHANGE 198.162.0.50(ISA)198.162.100.100 >> DMZ(192.168.100.50(SMTP RELAY)) >> 198.162.100.101(ISA)198.162.0.200 >> INTERNAL EXCHANGE So, if you understand the break down of above then it's simple External ISA publishes to 192.168.100.50 you can use the exchange publish function to publish to the SMTP relay server. the SMTP REALY MACHINE uses [198.162.0.101] as the smart host. the internal web machine publishes the internal exchange machine. All my mcahines in the DMZ reside in thier own work group SMTPCRED.EXE points to 198.162.0.100(EXTERNAL ISA) Thank you, Joseph ----- Original Message ----- From: Marvin Cummings To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2004 4:13 PM Subject: [isalist] RE: Publishing another SMTP Server through ISA http://www.ISAserver.org Hmmm.this is exactly what I'm looking to do. I have the same setup except the SMTP, or exchange, server isn't in a DMZ nor is the web server running the SMTP service. Instead it sits in its own Workgroup. My understanding was that the Smarthost needed to be the internal mail server. Am I right in guessing that since the ISA server is acting as an SMTP relay server, it therefore should be used as the smarthost? I also now have a protocol rule for this server allowing outbound access on port 25. SMTPCred was configured to point to the ISA server from the web server but I'm not able to connect to the ISA server.
