Kinda confused Right now I have an SMTP relay installed on the ISA server with the message screener filtering content sent to the internal exchange server for one of my domains. Are you saying I need to use the ISA CD to install the message screener and SMTP relay link on the web server? What documentation did you use to perform this? If the ISA server's currently acting as an SMTP relay with the screener installed do I still need to apply these methods or do I apply this to ever server acting as an SMTP server? Make sure that the smtp message screener is active on the ISA server. 2. Use the publish wizard for exchange and point to your SMTP relay machine 3. run deconcfg.exe and setup the vendor specific parameters. You can find how to do this on isaserver.org 4. On the SMTP relay machine install the message screener. You do this by loading the ISA cd rom. To find actual instructions look out on isaserver.org 5. Run the smtpcred.exe tool. This helps create the link from your SMTP relay machine and ISA. 6. Make sure that when you add the domains *.domain.com to point to your nic card on the ISA machine Joseph ----- Original Message ----- From: Marvin Cummings <mailto:marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] <mailto:isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 07, 2004 3:28 PM Subject: [isalist] Publishing a virtual SMTP server http://www.ISAserver.org I need a confirmation: I have a postnuke site on my web server that I need to be able to send mail from. The web server's already published in ISA and the site's accessible externally. I've installed the SMTP component on the web server and I configured it to use its internal IP. I've also created a Protocol definition with the following settings: Filter Type Custom Filter IP Protocol: TCP Direction: Both Local Port: All ports Remote Port: Fixed Remote Port Number: 25 Local Computer: external IP of ISA server Remote Computer: Internal IP of web server I have SMTP configured to relay for my internal exchange server and need to know how do I configure or publish this SMTP server in ISA? I have my external zone files pointing to mail.mydomain.com which is the same static IP that points to one of my other sites. Sorry for the confusion but any responses are appreciated.
