Hi Walter, Chiming in here because I don't want you to lose the will, in spite of the fact that I REALLY DISLIKE and DISCOURAGE single NIC ISA firewalls, as I find it almost a perversion of the product. That said, some facts to help you: 1. The ISA firewall does need a default gateway if it needs a default gateway. I.e., if it sees the original host IP address in the incoming connection, it will need a gateway to send the response from the OWA server 2. The ISA firewall does not need to be the default gateway if you have configured the Web Publishing Rule to replace the original source IP address with its own (which is the default for Web Publishing Rules) 3. The ISA firewall will forward and reverse proxy the replies and requests HTH, Tom www.isaserver.org/shinder Tom and Deb Shinder's Configuring ISA Server 2004 http://tinyurl.com/3xqb7 MVP -- ISA Firewalls -----Original Message----- From: Walter Wilson [mailto:walter.wilson@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 6:18 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Publishing OWA through a single homed ISA- 2004 server http://www.ISAserver.org Steve, Much appreciated. I only have FBA enable on the ISA listener. (BTW: I've only one NIC in this box...) A colleague has just suggested something - ISA should definitely work as a proxy for OWA - yes? i.e. it should sit in between the client and the back end server and intercept all communications? Can I confirm that ISA does NOT require to be the gateway (the PIX is the gateway)? As long as I have connectivity, it should proxy incoming connection and subsequent reply? Losing the will....
