I have a cable modem at my home install, and am allocated a dynamic IP address, which is renewed every 30 days. I also have or have had many other client installs with dynamic ip scenarios, and I have had no problems whatsoever with lease renewal at all whatsoever. Most cable operators don't acknowledge renewal, until the lease expires, or until the IP is released. In neither case will the filter pass your request. MS has fix: Q326116 Another way is to run batch file that stops ISA services, releases and then renews the IP. Assuming your lease is long enough, you can schedule this for off hours. Another benefit of this is that if you release the IP before expiration, you will get the same IP. I have had published servers for several months on cable with same IP, and therefore, no need to change publishing rules. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Moffat" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ISAserver.org Discussion List]" <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2003 4:24 PM Subject: [isalist] RE: Problems with DHCP on external nework card http://www.ISAserver.org Well you shouldn't be answering the question then........just enable the dhcp filter within the isa mmc Steve -----Original Message----- From: Glen Howard [mailto:ghoward@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2003 1:00 PM To: Isa List Subject: [isalist] RE: Problems with DHCP on external nework card http://www.ISAserver.org It is HIGHLY recommended (per Shinder book p. 208-212) that your external interface have static addressing.. I don't know of a scenario whereby ISA SERVER can be programmed to change automatically.. You will have to change PACKET FILTERS, and published servers when this occurs..
