I have been ask to setup a developers lab, around 50 user max, and I don't have all the requirements yet. I'm positive that they will make this lab a Windows 2003 environment. Would it be an overkill to use Enterprise edition? Will I be able to take advantage Windows Server 2003 clustering technology with ISA Standard edition? Last question, is about liciencing, if this is a developers environment how do you distiguish between production pcs virus developing pcs, if they are a MSDN Partner member? Do I just purchase all os's that gets installed? -----Original Message----- From: Jim Harrison [mailto:jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 28, 2003 4:50 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Re: Preference: Stand-alone or Enterprise Policy http://www.ISAserver.org What are your goals for ISA? Comparing Ent and Std editions is the only time you'll ever encounter and apples-oranges comparison using only apples. The both do exactly the same thing in exactly the same way, but: 1. they store their configuration in different places if Ent Ed. is an array member (Std can't be one) 2. Ent Ed. has CARP; Std doesn't. 3. Ent Ed. is more expensive than Std Ed.
