Hi Mario

I have an ISA and PIX firewall connected "back-to-back". Here is my config:

LAN à ISA à PIX à Internet

On the PIX's inside interface I have setup an access-list to permit ALL traffic
from the ISA's external interface. This is to prevent me from having to
duplicate all rules on ISA and PIX. There are more configuration settings that
need to be implemented but this is pretty much the kernel of the whole matter.

The beauty of this solution is that for anyone to actively hack me, they need
to know BOTH firewalls. Also if there are any Denial of Service attacks etc, I
simply block those requests on my PIX without ever troubling my ISA.

All in all I am very happy with our solution as I believe it offers me the best
of both world - flexibility and control!

Cheers

William R.
