Static IP. A static IP is assigned to the Comcast router, however, this
static IP might change if and when they make any changes to their
equipment. Your server behind it is Nat. For what it's worth, SBC calls
this a sticky IP. I kinda wish that Comcast would have done the same.

True Static IP. An IP is assigned to the customer to do with as they
please. Only a true static IP can be assigned to a server.

Lessons from the school of hard knocks. If you call up Comcast to order
Internet service don't just request a static IP, be sure to say you want
a TRUUUUUE static IP.

OK, this should be fun.

What *is* the difference between a static IP address and a "true" static
IP address?

(this should be good)
