Rebooting has indeed got it working again but probably temporarily. This is really acting just like the Windows 2003 SP2 problem. Only this is an Exchange 2007 on Windows 2008. Also definitely not an ISA issue so I'm going to move forums. thanks, Amy Babinchak Harbor Computer Services | 248-850-8616 Mobile 248-890-1794 Web http://www.harborcomputerservices.net<http://www.harborcomputerservices.net/> Client Blog http://smalltechnotes.blogspot.com<http://smalltechnotes.blogspot.com/> Tech Blog http://securesmb.harborcomputerservices.net<http://securesmb.harborcomputerservices.net/> Buy My House: http://www.shannonrealty.com/vassar_mls_tour.html Are you an IT Pro? http://www.thirdtier.net<http://www.thirdtier.net/> From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Thomas W Shinder Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 6:15 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: Outlook Anywhere timeout issues The 500 server error is significant. I get these log entries in pairs for every remote user. Basically it's telling me the site isn't there and the network isn't available. From the firewall I can nslookup both the internal and external name of the server, no problems there. I checked the SP2 settings on the ISA server, seems all good. SBS is 2008 so I don't think I have to worry about NIC settings on it. I don't know what to make of an allowed connection with an internal server error? This just cropped up. The rule has been in place for a couple of weeks now. This is ISA 2006 infront of SBS 2008. (exchange 2007) When I use Test rule, it tries to access 5 folders: autodiscover, owa, oab, rpc and unifiedmessaging. OAB and RPC both timeout. The others don't. All of the folders are located on the same server. 1460 - This operation returned because the timeout period expired. The error message provides a non-helpful link pointing me at the test rule section of ISA 2006 SP1 where my error is not listed. I actually have thought of something that we changed on Friday. We did the final demotion of the old SBS 2003 server and changed DNS on the ISA 2006 server to point to the new SBS 2008 server. However, email and the IIS site that Outlook Anywhere uses was already running on the new server for the past couple of weeks. I don't think that this should have effected anything. It worked all day Friday. I need some directly to troubleshoot this problem. Anyone else seen this issue? thanks, Amy Babinchak Harbor Computer Services | 248-850-8616 Mobile 248-890-1794 Web http://www.harborcomputerservices.net<http://www.harborcomputerservices.net/> Client Blog http://smalltechnotes.blogspot.com<http://smalltechnotes.blogspot.com/> Tech Blog http://securesmb.harborcomputerservices.net<http://securesmb.harborcomputerservices.net/> Buy My House: http://www.shannonrealty.com/vassar_mls_tour.html Are you an IT Pro? http://www.thirdtier.net<http://www.thirdtier.net/> From: Amy Babinchak Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 1:29 PM To: 'isapros@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: Outlook Anywhere timeout issues I'm getting some time out issues on my Outlook Anywhere rule. [cid:image002.png@01C95EFC.60E41660] This is ISA 2006 in front of SBS 2008. When I run test rule, the first two green checks happen almost instantly, then it sits for a very long time (as in a minute or more) then checks OAB, sits another minute or more, then checks RPC and unifiedmessaging.
