As John pointed out, the DBAdmin is a serious contender for this year's 1D10T
award.

You need to discuss the appropriate protocols / ports that need to be opened
and limit them to ONLY those protocols / ports.

If he's not wiling to do this, you can start sniffing the wire between the DB
server and clients as they go about their work to see what protocols / ports
are actually in use.

Subject: [isalist] Open firewall to all traffic from a IP address

http://www.ISAserver.org

I am not sure how to do this. If anyone can help me out I would
appreciate it. We have a program which requires a number of ports be open
to access the database and the administrator to the database we are trying
to access recommended we just open all traffic to the specified IP
address.

Thank you
