No - vmware will be my method - I can get 6 vmachines running at once with no problem but that's where I max out with 1GB of memory on my workstation. I'm up to 25 - WS03 VMs with different apps and configurations when ready to create different senerios. That makes sense, keep it simple, no more then two site. I understand. This info was found under Windows Server 2003 resource site. under Planning, Testing, and Piloting Deployment Projects document http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/reskit/deploykit.msp x Thanks Tom. -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2003 12:20 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: OT: RE: HELP !!! http://www.ISAserver.org Hi David, It looks very good, but do you have that many machines in your test lab? One of the problems I have with those types of diagrams is that people who do the work for a particular service are only concerned about the actual players per scenario. All policitics are local politics, all networks are LANs (or something like that :-) Keep the digrams as simple as possible and only include the elements participating in the interactions. If you have multiple sites, keep the big picture as simple as possible. When working with interactions between one site and another, then focus on ONLY those two sites. Make sense? I'm sure MS will have continue to fix the bugs until it does eventually get a 90% success rate. It is definitley an improvement for those who want to setup Exchange 2003 from scratch and have all the necessary pre-requists listed in a checklist format to help make the installation a success :-) I could go on but I'm sorry things didn't work out with the MSEX2k/MSConf2k upgrade, plus MSconf2K is being phased out since Live Communication Server 2003 (a.k.a RTC Server) will be replacing it. Definitely utilized Exmerge from Exchange 2003 resource site. Oh buy the way, I'm working on a Test Lab and wanted to know if I'm in the right direction with the VPN Local and Remote Server configuration, and UP and Down Stream ISA configuration. http://www.msdemo.com/testlab/default.htm It's under Test Lab Physical Lab, and please be patient when it attempts to download, I really have a slow box P133 with ADSL 256KB/UP :-) -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2003 11:53 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] OT: RE: HELP !!! http://www.ISAserver.org Hi David, That's interesting, because while it looked good on paper, I found that it was worthless. I did a pilot upgrade from Exchange 2000/Conf 2000 to Exchange 2003 and it failed miserably. I spent half a day trying to troubleshoot the problem without success. I figured it woun't work because there are too many core differences between Exchange 2000/Win2k and Exchange 2003/Win2003. I wasn't disappointed. Someday I'll have enough time to copy all the mailboxes to pst's, then import them to an Exchange 2003/Win2003 config.
