Knowing what *I* did in school (and TO school) , I can only imagine what
kids are up to these days. What a good time, though.

This was about six years ago. I'll bet that they've learned this trick by
now. I'm just glad I don't have to support schools anymore.

Just be glad they didn't clip the white-orange/orange pair (pins 1 & 2) for
TX+ and TX-... That's how you get *really* sneaky when you want to hide a
box dedicated to sniffing... phyically prevent the card from transmitting
any data on the wire- just RX...

I once had to locate a the source of a password sniffing application on a
locked down network. Finally found it. A laptop above the ceiling tiles,
spliced into the network cabling. We knew it was someplace, just look a long
time to find it. Darn cisco cert training for high school kids anyway. I
called it the hacker training problem.

"Right chaps, somewhere in this datacenter we've hidden a rogue ISA server
and that nasty rogue DHCP server.. first to find it before the end of this
year gets a great big cuddle!"

"You can take my server, but you'll never take my UPS" ? ;o)
