I watched a guy unplug his router once, sit down, plug his laptop in, connect up to the network, try to get outside to the www, and then he complained about the ISA box. Needless to say I had to laugh when he unplugged his laptop and plugged the router back in when he left..... I watched him do that two to three times a day for a week straight.... I would amaze him by showing him that every system could get out, and then he'd do his magic thing..... -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, August 20, 2004 3:20 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Re: New windows update doesn't work through ISA 2000 SP2 http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Steve, You forgot the Golden Rule: "When you have an ISA firewall and there is ANY kind of network connectivity problem, you must blame ISA first before testing any other hypothesis" :-) Tom www.isaserver.org/shinder Get the book! What you want to do is make sure that following connections are authenticated. If not, then the AX control may be broken... Can either of you include your web proxy and firewall logs showing these connections and failures?
