With most ISPs, you have to use the modem, as most DSL routers, such as
Linksys, do not support or have a port for translating the incoming
connection via a phone line to Ethernet.

I'll second that, do not use the enternet software, just ppoe, in fact if at
all possible, use a dsl router instead of a modem, far easier...:))

I've heard bad things about Enternet. Try RASPPPoE and see if that helps. Of
couse, the MTU think always is problematic.

It is a Mexican DSL Provider, it uses ENTERNET Software by Efficient
Networks, The modem is a SPEEDSTREAM 5360.
