Mac OS X 10.2.8 through an ISA Firewall

I am trying to allow my client to use Mac OS X 10.2.8 on a Microsoft
Small Business Server 2000 network. I am using ISA Server 2000 as their
Firewall. I can get onto the Internet from the internal network if I
constantly enter a username and password in a browser, but automatic
updates and other features through the firewall are not available--being
blocked by ISA.
How do I make the Mac a true firewall client?
