Tom,

This version of MSN runs within IE. I haven't been able to find any
settings that are specific to MSN to adjust. I love to know where they
are. Is there somewhere on isaserver.org that the hotmail issue has been
addressed? I'll read up and see if I can apply anything from that
article or post. MSN and Hotmail email are now one, so maybe that will
be it.

Hi Amy,

This might be similar to the Hotmail issue, where the MSN user
credentials are being sent to the Web proxy service instead of the
actual user's credentials. Try configuring MSN for Direct Access so that
the Web Proxy service is bypassed and see if that helps things.

HTH,
Tom

I'll have a chance to look at the problem again tomorrow. It is ISA that
is asking for the username and password. Strange thing is that it
doesn't ask if you are simply viewing websites in IE, but as soon as you
ask for new email in MSN up comes the login prompt. There aren't any
logon problems on the computer. I checked the logs there and everything
is good. I checked to see if IE is using the firewall client at all and
it is. When I disable the firewall client the user can't get to the
Internet, which is how it should be. For some reason MSN refuses to use
the firewall client.

Hi Amy,

Is it possible the user let windows save the user id / password for MSN
and
since the changed the user ID password? I've run into that with IE
before?
Is MSN asking for the authorization or ISA?
Could also be a password expired or account locked out if ISA is
authenticating on domain / workgroup authentication.

Just a couple ideas...
Peter
