Kazaa won't connect!!

Hi.
I am using Kazaa on Windows 2000 Pro.
I don't know why, but it refuses to connect. I had this problem even
before I installed a firewall.
I used to have Windows 98, and had no problems connecting even though I
had a firewall, and I didn't even need to touch any of the configurations.
I have no idea how to scan for open ports and how to use them, and I was
wondering if there's anyone out there that can help me somehow.
