Hi Glenn,
I appreciate your appreciation! I think the ISAServer.org mailing list
and Web boards have a really great collection of networking
professionals. There's a real "brain trust" here who's willing to share
their knowledge.
VPN is one of the "killer apps" of ISA Server, and I'm always happy to
discuss VPN issues. Keep those questions coming!

Thank U Tom for your response, Yes, that is what I am finding
out the deeper I get into it, it seems that RRAS supports IPSEC
Tunneling but requires L2TP with it, or at least that is what I see when
I configure it using the Security tab in RRAS, the Old Raptor box I have
only supports IPSEC with out L2TP and of course some proprietary
encryption called swipe. I think this is a dead issue. If I may make one
comment, I really appreciate the willingness of the ISA List subscribers
who share their knowledge and experience with others, I read inquires
when I get the time and contribute when I know I can provide valued

Hi Glenn,
NOT POSSIBLE. You MUST use L2TP/IPSec if you want to
create a gateway to gateway link with ISA, or you can use PPTP.

I know that ISA uses RRAS for establishing
tunnels between ISA boxes but has anyone ever been able to build a IPSEC
tunnel between RRAS and
another vendors software platform, such as
Raptor which is now owned by Symantec? Raptor supports IPSEC tunneling
and I know RRAS supports
Private Key Sharing, it is the authentication I
can't seem to get passed, Microsoft says it supports open IPSEC
tunneling between RRAS and others, but I have yet to get anything but
RRAS to RRAS connections.
