ISA doesn't support split connections like this. Great Job! Now, on to the Q-of-the-day... We are trying to set up a home lab using W2k server and ISA. Our problem lies in the Internet connection. Here in New Brunswick in certain areas we have only the use of Data Xcellerators (Scientific Atlanta) which provide downstream connection via local cable company and upstream requests use a phone modem integrated into the Xcellerator. Proprietary software is used to connect us to the ISP (similar to DUN) and the connection must be intitiated manually or can be set to dial when the computer starts (please keep in mind this device contains the phone modem and the dialing is initiated over Ethernet with their software). The connection to the Xcellerator from the server is Ethernet, from the Xcellerator to the ISP is both Coax (down) and Phone (up). Of course, the ISP supplies a DHCP address when we connect. How do we configure our server properly? We would like AD installed on this machine (so therefore, DNS) and DHCP for internal clients (not critical) but are unsure how to configure ISA with no static external IP address. So far we see plenty of errors in Event Logs because things won't work well without having an external IP during startup. Can you assist? Thanks, Paul Clement, MCSE ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
