Hello, This is actually on GIGABIT. In order to use gigabit you have to do AUTO. I'm not sure why Intel wrote the driver that way. There is an autodetect 1000 setting as apposed to autonegotiate. Perhaps that's what I should be using. Many times, NICs and switches don't agree on how to re-negotiate the connection after the switch reboot. I've seen this most often with Cisco, but I never discount the idea of running into this with another switch. Generally speaking I NEVER use auto-detect for servers and their switches; they don't move and therefore they don't need to "adjust to a new environment". Never mind. This isn't an arp issue. Are you using a 2000 or 2004 ISA firewall? Tom www.isaserver.org/shinder Get the book! The ISA server's external network adapter is connected to an HP2848 Procurve switch. The switch required a re-boot and after the re-boot I received the following error message in the ISA Server's event log. After the re-boot the ISA server would not serve any of its published web sites. At the time I simply re-booted the server which cleared the problem. The ISA server is a Dell 1650 with Intel Pro1000XT network adapters. Does anyone know how can I avoid this happening?
