ISA Web Publishing problems when .asp redirects to another server

I have an isa server web publishing rule that allows access to an internal
web server. That works fine for the login to that web server. asp code
then gives you a page with a link for specific information. when you
select this link, it redirects you to a file server in the form of UNC. It
does not work. Is their any way to allow this data to flow through without
breaking the web publishing rule? If this was a mapped drive would this
work?
