Did you publish your Exchangeserver using the secure mail server wizard?

You need to open port 25 outgoing (smtp) for the exchange on the isa to
send mails out.

Hope this helps
Gregor

Subject: [isalist] ISA Server as mail relay

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi, I have a Netscreen firewall in front of an ISA Server. The link
between the netscreen and isa is a 192.168.x.y. My exchange server is
behind the isa server on address 192.168.y.x. The netscreen is set to
forward all smtp traffic to the exchange server. This setup worked on
NT4 and Proxy V2. However with W2K and ISA the mail server cannot send
or receive any mail. I have run the wizard to create the exchange/mail
protocol rule but it still does not work. Any pointers would be
appreciated

Thanks
