Of course ISA rocks. 

My concern is the way you worded your message is that you are going to
depend on ISA as the only single layer of defense for your whole network.

Security has to be multilayer. By that I mean you must have AV protection on
the desktops, and acceptable internet usage policy, properly configured
workstations, proper username and password policies and so forth.

The reason I am bringing this up as I had a discussion with another so
called network admin who believed that all you needed to protect a clients
network was a firewall. Nothing else. No anti-virus, no passwords, allow
messengers and the works.

So, from that context, no, a single layer of defense, even if it is ISA
server 2004 which is the best firewall, is not good enough.
