Stefaan,

I agree with you however if you call Microsoft and let them know ahead
of time that your using VMware or their crappy version of VMware
(Virtual PC) they do not end support, the simply assess the problem and
if they determine it's a issue or setup problem with your VMware they
let you know and support ends. Otherwise they fix the problem.

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Well, let's put it this way. It will very likely work but if there are
problems you might get into trouble unless you can simulate the problem
on a
dedicated ISA box.

Thanks,
Stefaan

That my friend is not true, these companies and other have called MS
support
several times and even letting MS know their OS is running on a VM
machine
MS still supported them.

Money talks Jim.

It don't matter - as soon as ISA is installed on a virtual machine,
support
dies screaming.

I have so far seen three companies using VMware in production so far. I
know
from a colleague of mine that Deutsche Bank uses VMware ESX server in
production. It would surprise me to find out if some of the other larger
banks use it in production too...

Regards,
Andrew

Hi Troy,

Are you kidding? That article is for a lab environment, *not* a
production
environment and I can know it ;-)

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hey guys,

One of my colleagues has a new toy 'VMWare ESX'. The goal is to
virtualize
as many servers as possible. The question is now is it advised to
install
ISA 2004 on VMWare ESX or should ISA 2004 be placed on his own server?

Thanks,
Stefaan
