I must say that if you had anything to do with the default configuration of ISA
in SBS2003 then congratulations because it is set up much better out of the box
than it was in SBS2000. I appreciate the work and thought that went into it.

I bet I can settle this...

Since ISA2K is bundled with SBS2K3, that's the supported combination.
There are not plans to integrate or upgrade on SBS as yet.
The reasoning is that the ISA built for and tested with SBS2K3 was a new build
of ISA, targeted specifically at SBS2K3.

If this changes, you can bet that either Tom or I will be making the
announcement...

ISA 2004 is a stand alone product. SBS2003 is an integrated package. You can
not install an update to anything that is included in the package, unless it
is an upgrade specifically designed for SBS. When you purchases the SA for
SBS2003, it is for any upgrade version during the time of the SA. It is not
applicable for individual components.

I got this information from the Microsoft person who gave us the
presentation here in Malta. Don't have his name at hand at the moment but
I'll try to dig it out.

This only applies to SBS Premium..strangely enough there is no reference to
it on the MS Site

Can anyone add more info on this?

Tom,

Do you know if Microsoft has any plans to include the ISA2004 upgrade in
some way to current SBS2003 users? SBS2003 users got a new version of
everything except ISA when they upgraded from SBS2000 to SBS2003. Or will
this be used as the reason to get SBS users to upgrade again? Since most
small companies have only the vaguest idea when ISA is, I don't think that
they will go for that idea.
