I'm feeling old enough these daze... :)
Check in the Task Manager, Processors tab. You'll see the service that's
pegging the processor there.

Well, first, let me get with the crowd and say that Tom is my
daddy too!
The way to tell if your reporting kicked in is to look under
Monitoring Configuration and check the properties of reports you have
there to see if you have a long one scheduled?
You could have other problems, I was just sharing.

Actually, I did not schedule any report recently.
Is there a way that I can know which part of the proxy service
is taking this processor usage?
I mean it may be the reporting part, it may be the caching part,
etc...

I had the same thing happen to me the other day. What
happened was that
my yearly report kicked in. I forgot I set it up to do
that, and it
totally grabbed 100% of my processor. What kind of
reports have you
scheduled for?

Sounds like a Welchia or Nachi worm problem. Check
network traffic to
see
if someone is blasting the ISA server.

We are using Microsoft ISA server 2000 with Windows 2000
Server as
integrated mode. It was working fine till 2 days ago
where the processor
usage becomes suddenly 100% used by the proxy service
(W3PROXY). By
restarting the server, it works fine for a short period
then the same
symptom repeats. The clients are not using the Firewall
client, they are
simply configured on their Internet Explorer, use proxy,
and it's IP
address is given. The error message appearing at the
clients (on the
I.E.)
HTTP 502 Proxy Error - No buffer space is supported. The
WinSock
implementation was unable to allocate additional memory
to accommodate
the
