Whenever a Windows machine configured to receive
its IP address from a DHCP server during boot up
cannot find the DHCP server. Windows will automatically
assign the network address (IP address auto configuration)
(169.254.x.x).

Subject: [isalist] I dont understand all this UDP traffic

http://www.ISAserver.org

I published my exchange 5.5 server, using the secure amil wizard in ISA.
In the protocol rule that the wizard created i deselected every protocol,
except the ones that Exchange needs, like SMTP, POP3, HTTP. ect, ect. I
publsih POP3, POP3S, SMTP, SMTPS, IMAP4, IMAPS, and RPC. What i cant
understand is when i look at the firewall log, i see a ton of traffic,
that looks like this. 169.254.15.255, is not an ip that i use on our
network, we are all 192.168.0.0/24. Someone please help me to understand
what is going on here.

192.168.0.2 N 2002-08-25 00:08:31 fwsrv SENTINAL
169.254.15.255 2685 60998 2685 UDP UdpMap 0 2 9154
