Exactly.

I once played with option two (setting up web sites on different ports) but
the response through ISA was terrible. I frequently got error 404s. Upon
implementing host header redirection in conjunction with utilizing different
ports, performance snapped right up.

It is the easiest, most cost effective method to use. If a browser client
that does not support HTTP 1.1 is used, they will automatically go to the
default site. You can write scripts to handle them, but in this day and
age, it is almost not worth your time.

Thanks Jeff,

I've been looking at that.

For example I could put www.gidk.com as a header?

Thanks,

A simple solutions would be to use one IP, save the hassle and setup
host
header redirection. It functions by examining the requesting host
header
request from the browser and redirecting it to the proper FQDN
configured
site.

Since I never have done this before, I hope someone can clarify this for
me.

I have 2 NIC's on my ISA box.

How would I configure things to host multiple web sites?

Would I simply put the new public IP address on my external NIC card on
the ISA Server?

Do I have to use a different Port Number for my second site? And/or do I
have to use a different private IP address on my internal web Server?

Thanks for any help.

Christian
