Hi all ,
I am still stuck.
1. How can I configure sites for direct access in 2004 ?
2. Also authentication is not working for FTP. Cannot upload. Says access
denied.
3. how can I make 1 to 1 NAT mapping to publish my web servers ?

Hi Aman,
If you don't want the requests passed to the Web Proxy filter, then I
believe you'll need to configure the sites for Direct Access. I have to
configure Hotmail for Direct Access for reasons that aren't exactly the
same, but similar.

Tom,
I get your point that I have to dig deep, which I am doing.
But I am using ISA 2004 and clients are configured as SecureNAT.
So I don't think I have to configure them for direct access.
I think its about authentication. I am not even able to connect to
internal
web servers through FP extensions.. wont take the username and paswd.
Where can I set the type of authentication ( basic, etc ) in ISA 2004 ?
I am using Interdev 6 to connect to web servers.

Hi Aman,
The Quick Start Guide was just that, get things going quick. But for
doing things outside of general Web surfing, etc. you'll need to dig
deeper into the product.
Configure those sites for Direct Access, or maybe better, disable the
Web Proxy filter. One downside to that is that although Web Proxy
clients will still be Web Proxy clients, the UI for the HTTP Security
filter is disabled. Still haven't figured out if the HTTP Security
filter is disabled for Web Proxy clients too, or the UI is just hidden.

It is the default config as per the quick start guide.
Haven't done anything else like configuring web proxy clients.
The problem is also there when I access ftp sites.
I can log in and download files but cannot upload.

Hi Aman,
Could be an authentication issue. Try disabling the Web Proxy client on
the machine while using Frontpage for remote sites, or configure those
sites for Direct Access.

Hi,
I installed ISA last nite and is up and running. I can access websites
and
all. But when I try to access a web server (on external network) through
frontpage extensions .. I am not authenticated. The username and
passwords
are correct..
Do I have to do something special to allow this ?
