Hi Georges, No problem, its just a "sore point" for me. You didn't do anything wrong, so don't worry about it! So, the client and server as internal network clients, which means that both of them should be on the LAT. So, when the client attempts to connect to the server, the should completely bypass the firewall client software, because anything on the LAT does NOT go through the firewall client. However, Oracle is definitely "non-compliant" (med-speak) and they'll go out of their way to make life difficult :-) I would start with a packet sniff on the client and serve and see if anything looks interesting. Then, based on those findings, I would take it to PSS, as I suspect they wouldn't mind giving Oracle a black eye. I know I wouldn't :) HTH, Tom Thomas W Shinder www.isaserver.org/shinder ISA Server and Beyond: http://tinyurl.com/1jq1 Configuring ISA Server: http://tinyurl.com/1llp -----Original Message----- From: Georges Khoueiry [mailto:georges_khoueiry@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2003 3:50 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Guys Need Proffesional to help and especially Mr Shnider http://www.ISAserver.org Dear DR Shnider Really sorry for the " Mr " didn't pay attention please know that I have for you the utmost respect and appreciation. The relation between server and client is Internal there is no communication with the external network : 172.26.30.20 is the server IP Adress 172.26.30.17 is the Client Ip Adress When the client is configured as a SecureNAT client it works, when its configured as a Firewall client, it doesn't work. Only the host command it give the order to the oracle server to write on database and the client freeze it doesn't pass to next step but if i check the server i find that the file i load to write on the server is actually writen but it stops there . ps: If i disable the ferwall client it also stop functionning i need to uninstall it completly in able to work. I prefer the latter. I haven't been "Mr." for almost 15 years :) From what I can tell, your have an internal network client that can't access some type of Oracle application on the external network. When the client is configured as a SecureNAT client it works, when its configured as a Firewall client, it doesn't work. Is that right? Thanks! PS: Even if i disable the fierwall this command don't work i have to Uninstall it .The host command is an oracle command.
