Yep, nothing beats a short commute.  When I was in Desert Storm, the van
I was working in was only a few feet from the building.  So I procured
some plywood and sandbags and made my own barracks about three feet from
work... Ever seen a shorter commute?

Yeah, I spent almost 1 years in that big comm. building on the hill over
looking the base.  I'm not sure if it still is there but it was great
duty having your barracks right above your work place.  Still, I was
never prone to errors...

Reminds me of a Marine I was stationed with at Kaneohe.  He was spending
an awful lot of time over on the Navy base at night, and when questioned
about his activities, he simply would state that he was "doing
missionary work".
