Firewall client, NAT, and SOCKS...

I'm a little confused on all the terms here....

When running a messenger service such as AIM or Yahoo Messenger, I am unable
to get out through the ISA server via the firewall client 5050 outbound TCP
and 5050 in/outbound UDP for Yahoo, 5190 outbound TCP on AOL IM. I'm
unsuccessful on sending messages via the firewall, but as soon as I enable
SOCKS 4 on the application it works (port 1080). What is the difference
here and is this just a error on configuration on my part for the firewall
ports. Can this option work for either/or as well?

Much appreciated,

Paul Berg
