I've never seen ISA repeat mails. I send mail through ISA all the time and it never repeats. t ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Harrison <mailto:Jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 6:17 AM Subject: [isalist] Re: FW: OT: ActiveSync, WM5, ISA 2006, Exchange 2003 SP2 - Duplicating Emails sent from WM5 device What "conflict"? Why do you assume it was ISA repeating mails? If you make a change at the client and the problem resolves, it's the client; not ISA. From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Haigh Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 2:33 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: FW: OT: ActiveSync, WM5, ISA 2006, Exchange 2003 SP2 - Duplicating Emails sent from WM5 device OK found the problem. There seems to have been a conflict between the certificate on the WM5 device and the certificate on the ISA Server. We used the certificate we downloaded from using OWA for this client and installed it on the WM5 device. Once this was replaced by the root certificate the duplicates stopped happening. Would have expected ISA to throw an error rather than duplicating emails. Probably actually duplicating commands from the WM5 but only showed as duplicate sent emails. Glad that's resolved was driving me nuts. _____ From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Haigh Sent: Wednesday, 28 March 2007 4:16 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: FW: OT: ActiveSync, WM5, ISA 2006, Exchange 2003 SP2 - Duplicating Emails sent from WM5 device OK, further update. I have tested this setup using HTTP and only get one emailed delivered. Soon as I turn on SSL on the device the emails become duplicated. I am totally at a lose now. Please does anyone have any suggestions as to what to try next? Thanks Andy _____ From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Haigh Sent: Saturday, 17 March 2007 1:12 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] FW: OT: ActiveSync, WM5, ISA 2006, Exchange 2003 SP2 - Duplicating Emails sent from WM5 device I have been checking the logs on the servers and it would seem the WM5 device is sending the commands only once but the IIS logs are showing the commands arriving twice. This looks suspicously like ISA 2006 is sending the commands twice!! This machine was upgraded from ISA 2004 to ISA 2006 and I ran into some problems with the rule that had been in place for OWA. So I deleted the rule and recreated it using the wizard, everything else seems to be working fine apart from the activesync part. It would seem all the commands sent from whe WM5 device are being duplicated. Any suggestions. Is it worth deleting the rule and re-creating it? Maybe delete all the current rules and recreate them all using the ISA 2006 wizards. The problem I am getting that when I send from the PDA two emails are being delivered to the recipient and I can't see why. I have been able to see that only a single mail apprears in the Outbox but after sending there are two in sent items and the two emails are received. Monitoring the queues shows two outgoing emails. The setup is two exchange servers at different locations with two separate SMTP connectors, the servers are Exchange 2003 SP2 + all security patches and the PDA is WM5. I have ISA 2006 between the LAN and the Internet and I used the wizard to build the rule for the exchange activesync connections. Receipt of emails on the WM5 device is fine it just the sending that is doubling up. Any help would be appreciated as I am at a loss. Thanks Andy All mail to and from this domain is GFI-scanned.
