Hi Ruba,

Autodetection depends on wpad entries in DHCP and/or DNS. Check out the
book or www.isaserver.org for deep details.

Hi Mr. Tim

Whats wpad? If you mean they can ping the server by name yes. (my
clients are the IT staff who has a rule to allow remote management) so
they can ping it by name.

The origins of the problem is referring to the ongoing dilemma in my
head about authentication in the ISA server :-( :-( :-( :-( , however
these are the symptoms (FW Client can't auto detect the ISA).

Thank you

Hi Ruba,

Can your clients resolve the name used for your wpad entry?

The firewall client at the clients machines suddenly is not able to auto
detect the ISA server, no change for the network configuration is made,
and the ISA server is up and running, if I set the server manually it
sees it but can't detect it automatically, nothing in the event viewer.
?

Thanks for any help
