Hi Edward,

That is an excellent rule of thumb.

If you mean that the firewall client is on your Exchange server,
then you should remove it.

The rule of thumb we followed was that we put the Firewall
Client on user workstations only, never on production servers. Since the
Firewall Client is meant to interface with user-related config items
(browser config, etc) we only installed it on workstations.

                Hello everybody

I have ISA on one machine and Exchange on another on the
internal network. All incoming mail gets to ISA is scanned by GFI
MailEssentials and MailSecurity then passed on to Exchange 2000. For out
bound mails Exchange passed on to the ISA machine for scanning and
sending out to the net.

Can anyone explain why my Exchange only sends mail with
the firewall client disabled? Do I need to use the Firewall client? Can
someone tell me when I do and when I don't need the Firewall client?

                Awaiting your appreciated advice

                William
