I quit tracking the number of times the PEBCAK virus ruined an otherwise
functional installation.
I wish I could share my current CritSit adventures, but NDA prevents it.
It's just as well; you'd call me a liar to my face and I wouldn't blame
you a bit.

Good to his word, the developer, set the SQL DB up for me on the sql
server.

Set it to a fixed maximum size of, wait for it, 20M, with no auto extent
!

Checked the doco I sent through, yep, clearly says 500M initial, 500M
extents, 20G max DB size.

His mobile went straight to voice mail, and so far 12 hours later, no
return
call, when he was supposed to be on call for me, in case of any issue.

Since I don't have admin access to the SQL server, to fix this, Thought
it
was a bit stupid to proceed any further.

The post implementation review on Monday morning is likely to be
eventful to
say the least.

You'll still need to "trim" the data with a routine that takes the
fields
and "rtrims" the data, as the 2004 ODBC driver fills the fields with
blanks,
even with ANSI trimming turned on.
