I was thinking along the same line, but my internal DNS Server was configured to forward any un-resolve name to the outside ISP DNS server which will do the trick. Again, I only have one problem (which is browsing my own web site!!! With firewall client installed ), there seems to be no issues at all for all other public sites with or without the firewall client. -----Original Message----- From: Scott Wilson [mailto:swilson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: June 19, 2002 1:57 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Domain name, web name, Firewall client and Web Proxy client http://www.ISAserver.org Sounds like a DNS issue. You need a host record in your internal DNS server for www that points to the outside address for www.abc.com. -----Original Message----- From: Eddie Kwong [mailto:eddiek@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2002 12:50 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Domain name, web name, Firewall client and Web Proxy client http://www.ISAserver.org I manage an organization network that has it's domain name say 'abc' same as their web site name say 'www.abc.com'. This might not be a good idea but I inherit this setup. Also, the web site is being host by an outside ISP so it is outside the company ISA firewall. I have a dedicated win2k server running ISA Server with all the proper win2k and isa patches. Problem, If my internal network client were configured as a web proxy client, they can access outside web and www.abc.com without any problem at all. If they switch to just running the firewall client, or both web and firewall client, they can also browse everywhere but they cannot browse www.abc.com!!! Any clue? From inside the firewall, I can tracert abc.com I can tracert any other www.xyz.com But when I try tracert www.abc.com, I got a name not found response right away. ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: swilson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: eddiek@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
