I manage an organization network that has it's domain name say 'abc' same as their web site name say 'www.abc.com'. This might not be a good idea but I inherit this setup. Also, the web site is being host by an outside ISP so it is outside the company ISA firewall. I have a dedicated win2k server running ISA Server with all the proper win2k and isa patches. Problem, If my internal network client were configured as a web proxy client, they can access outside web and www.abc.com without any problem at all. If they switch to just running the firewall client, or both web and firewall client, they can also browse everywhere but they cannot browse www.abc.com!!! Any clue? From inside the firewall, I can tracert abc.com I can tracert any other www.xyz.com But when I try tracert www.abc.com, I got a name not found response right away.
