Hi Jeanne, I asked about the LDT because that's part of what defines "local" for the IE proxy settings. I haven't played with MACs, but I'd hope that IE there would operate the same way. I'm afraid I won't be of much use to you in the SQUID area, but if the ISA is chaining web requests to it, then ISA will be at the mercy of that cache. What settings do you have in "Client Configuration", "Web Proxy Client"? You can define a routing rule for "all internal destinations" that disallows caching, too, but hopefully that porn site wasn't "internal". There is third-part app for filtering called SurfControl, but I've seen very mixed reviews on it. We have two test machines, one is using IE 4.5 and the other IE 5.0. What happens is if our upstream caching server (SQUID) has the files in its cache, the mac's get that page instead of an updated page from the server. Even if I hit refresh, CTRL refresh, SHIFT refresh, it still isn't updated. If I disable proxy, then it's updated. If I empty local cache and turn proxy back on, it's bringing in the old data again. My solution for the porno link that needed to be removed, was to turn off my ISA's forward to the upstream cache, use a mac to go to the site, and then the right pages were loaded and put into my ISA's cache! When I turn the upstream cache back on, it still is bringing up the correct pages now. My LDT is *.longview.k12.wa.us Shouldn't that make anything under longview.k12.wa.us be NOT cached? I need to get this solved, and have no idea how to go about it! Thanks for any help. btw, Hi back.. Yea Rain is the life here isn't it? Jeanne ----- Original Message ----- What browser? Auto-detection is only supported for IE 5 and higher. What is listed in the LDT? That is a large part of your "local" namespace for the browser. BTW, hi from another Puget Sound resident... How would I get my Mac Clients to download or use the specific routing script? Or if I add that destination set on the ISA server will it automatically do that for the Mac Clients? This server I am wanting to 'not cache' is in the local LAT or local Network but the Mac Clients are still going out to the upstream proxy and getting information from there.
