There is clearly a problem with ISA on this. I have exactly the same
problem. I reboot, it renews fine - that makes sense because the DHCP client
starts and requests before ISA Control starts. After it is running no dice.
Even if I shut down the services and try a renew it will not. Only a reboot
gets it back up. And I did use the filter, recreate it, make the recommended
AutoIP registry hack, etc. Read all the online docs at the Learning Zone and
other 3rd party links. Still no dice. Although when I first posted about
this, others said theirs worked fine, so I'm not sure what environment
differences may come in to play. Mine is an SBS like environment, meaning
everything is on one server.

    hi Bas

Another solution which has came up on this board is to delete the
existing DHCP filter and recreate it. Is packet filtering turned on.

Enable the DHCP filter, buy a book on ISA and read it, explore
www.isaserver.org.

          Hi

We got an Isaserver running with two nics one for the internal
network
and one for the external network.
The external nic must use dhcp to obtain an ip address else it
does not
work with the ISP however ofcourse our ip address is always the
same
cause it is bound to the external nic mac address by the ISP.
When we start the system everthink work fine but after six ours
the dhcp
lease has ended and the nic can`t obtain a new ip address.
So we contacted the ISP and they said that there was a discovery
for an
dhcp server but never an acknownledge.
When we dissable the packet filter everything worked fine we
always can
obtain an new ip address but ofcourse that is not what we wan`t.
Do i have to create an packet filter for the external interface ?
Cause
i did create some packet filters but all with no succes.
Or do i always need a static ip address ?

          Please Help Me
