OK - a misunderstood use of the term OEM. I am an OEM, and so use OEM
software. You are talking about big-name vendor pre-installs. Yes,
those all suck because the "big name vendor" assumes they know more than
MS. I've managed 3 of those (2 Dell, 1 HP) and had to dig into their
mess to make various things work corectly on all of them.

The real aggravation comes when you want support from them - they act
like "what do you mean you don't want to run it like we shipped it to
you - we do know best after all".

I will no longer take on those types of jobs now. If I don't build it,
I won't be responsible for the initial installation and setup. (I will,
however come in and solve the screw-ups - for a (much more than) nominal
fee).

You must have the magic touch. My only experience is will Dell. A
registry edit is required before you can install WSUS. They've seriously
messed with the default install.

Hmmm ... I must just be lucky then - I've done nearly a dozen OEM SBS
(2k & 2k3) installs with nary a problem.
