That's what threw me off.... I was totally expecting a "shick-shick
BOOM" response to that "How to bypass the ISA2004 firewall features"
email... ;)

I wondered what happened to you. You missed all the fun, weird things happened while you gone like:
* someone asked for SIP support
* someone wanted to static NAT mappings
* someone wanted ISP load balancing and fail over
* someone asked about turning off the firewall services on the ISA
firewall
* someone asked about how to make the non-SBS box an ISA firewall domain
controller
You should have been there, I didn't know how to answer these questions!
;-PPP~

Instead of trying to destroy your firewall, try determining the protocols/ports required for your backup application and create policies to allow that traffic.
Disabling the firewall is just poor understanding of your own processes.
