If all four installs result with the same corrupt cache, then I would
question your SP2 package, is SP2 a download package or from Technet CD? If
you download SP2 you might have a corrupt SP2 and you don't know it but then
again you wouldn't get a successful install....ok I'm reachin' right now ;)
this is a good one!

Thanks, Jason.
That's the same thing I've done. Installed the OS, installed SP2, and then
ISA. That's when I lose my cache files. Then the updates for ISA don't
help with the cache files.. It's really strange..
Maybe I'm doing something stupid or something.. That's really odd......
thanks.

Phillip,

I don't do anything out of the ordinary. The servers I typically work with
are Compaq DL380 or 580 servers, so I use the Smartstart to get the OS and
Compaq drivers installed. I install SP2, then install ISA. The I usually
apply all related hotfixes for ISA.

Based on David's last post, I usually keep the cache defaults during the
setup and then modify after setup has completed.

Jason

What does a fresh build of a server consist of when you all do it? Just
briefly go through the process if you will.. Maybe I'm leaving something
out... You can email me personally at phorn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you want.
Much appreciated,
Phillip

Hey everyone,
I just have a quick quiestion. I've got 4 different ISA Servers that I
admin, and I'm having a cache issue.
Every time I install Windows 2000 SP2 on a server, my Cache file gets
corrupted and can not be recovered. There have even been a couple of times
when the Pagefile was destroyed. Anyone else have this problem? What's
going on here?
Thanks,
Phillip
