Send a message to the server with an address that doesn't exist. When it
bounces back to you
Look at the mail headers.

Hi Jim,

That would be interesting. I use Exchange that is configured to use the
ISP as a Smart Host. I've just put out an email to them to see what mail
server they have (they don't allow Telnet, so I couldn't get their
banner :-)

I'm working with the ISA QFE team to solve this.
1. How were you able to determine that Postfix mailservers were the
problem? 2. Do you have any packet traces to share with us (NDA applies,
of course)?

Hey,

I don't know if this was addressed on this list before, but today I
found a bug in the SMTP Filter Application extension.

The problem was that eversince I upgraded ISA server to SP1, some people
were unable to send me mail. (I publish an Exchange server behind ISA).
People got an error message: 5.3.3 Unrecognized command.

After a while I found out it affected only those people (or their ISP's)
that were running the Postfix Mailserver. Disabling the SMTP filter
solved my problem. After I found out, I read on a dutch forum that it's
a bug in SP1. A fix will probably released soon.

With regards,

Angelo Höngens.
